In the investigation Tell of Spring, Qurium has teamed up with cyber security researchers from French […] and Canadian Cyber Citoyen to bring light into the world of Affiliate networksAffiliate networks
Act as intermediaries between the publishers of advertisements and those operating the scams. Those that try to find new victims by impersonating existing media are paid by affiliate networks that promote financial scams as part of the agreements with the fraudsters.
These cyber scams are frequently disseminated as paid advertisements in social media. Big tech companies have shown their incompetence stopping this scam machinery for years. The same machinery that is used as a playground for all sorts of fraud and disinformation.
“Tell of Spring” shows what it takes to identify the affiliate networks involved and to find the people behind these companies.
During just two months, we analyzed the communication protocol between the websites collecting data from the victims and those that paid for them. The result is three Affiliate Networks based in Tel Aviv (Israel): TrafficOn, Supreme Media and ROI Collective.
These affiliate networks are financing those behind the impersonation of legitimate media and famous individuals.
Meet the people with a glossy and carefree public image, that actually flood your daily life with crypto scams and turn the Internet into a junkyard. Making these scam profitable actors accountable is a necessary step to protect future victims and sanitize our Internet.
