The 18th of December we discovered the presence of a fake newspaper with the name http://sozcu.today/ that clones the design of the Turkish newspaper https://www.sozcu.com.tr/
The newspaper contains one single article that suggests that journalists from Radio Liberty in Kyrgyzstan might be involved in the killing of Saimaiti Aierken
The domain was registered the 17th of December 2019 in Namecheap and a quick look into the source code shows evidence of tampering with the original template of sozcu.com.tr.
Signs of tampering include:
- Hosted in Digital Ocean
- Content has been modified with different encoding
- HTML style including line breaks are different than the original
- Domain name registered 24h ago
