Qurium continues its investigations into the shady dealings of reputation management companies. Recently, Qurium has received two emails from “legal representatives” of Alexander Mashkevich, an Israeli-Kazakh billionaire, businessman and investor who has major holdings and close political relationships in Kazakhstan. Both representatives have requested Qurium to remove a certain article published by Kloop Media, a Kyrgyzstan media organization focusing on investigative journalism, member of both GIJN and OCCRP.
The trails of these “legal representatives” leads us to an Ukrainian online reputation management company, Artdock Studio, dedicated to manage, control and conceal the online reputation of individuals and companies. A closer look at traffic logs, shows that Artdock Studio has also visited several other investigative media publishing investigations on organized crime and financial corruption in Romania, Azerbaijan, Latvia, Serbia and Kazakhstan.
Read Qurium’s report “The mysterious lawyers of Alexander Mashkevich” to find out how an anonymous mail from a Gmail account could be traced to a Ukrainian online reputation management company.
